This first prophecy corresponds to the original command to prophesy as to what must soon take place (Revelation 1:1). It is seen to correspond to the time leading up to the overthrow of Jerusalem in 70 AD, including the years before and the various times of unrest. As many point out, the events of 70 AD do not fulfill the whole of Revelation, and no amount of regression or allegorization should be allowed to diminish the text to demonstrate otherwise. However, the events leading up to 70 AD are sufficient to appear to fulfill Revelation 6-11 as the seals and trumpets are opened and sounded.
This chronology corresponds to many more standard preterist approvals of this text.
