Elsewhere, as well, what many might call ‘proof-texts’ may be found. They are collected here. No case should ever be built solely upon these, but they are a part of the overall case.
- 1 Corinthians 15:23-25; Hebrews 10:12-13. These two verses together, because of the sequence of events, preclude the dispensationalist argument, and much of the futurist case.Since Hebrews 10:13 says He must remain at the right hand of God until all enemies are made His footstool, and 1 Corinthians 15:24 says the end comes when He has done this, there is no case for Christ to sit down on another throne between v23 and v24 since He must remain until the end of v24 is done. Thus, the Second Coming is after the Millennium, and Jesus is on the Davidic throne now, is currently reigning in His Kingdom, and will LEAVE the throne and give the Kingdom back to the Father once all this is completed.
