Some surmise that to begin down the road to of what many refer to as Partial Preterism must invariably lead one to the heretical position of full preterism, or as some refer to it, “Consistent Preterism”, which says that ALL of Biblical prophecy is fulfilled, which, in essence, denies the bodily return of Jesus Christ.
This is not a fully developed argument, as obviously there are many Partial Preterists who are not full preterists.
In another place it is explained that there is no direct connection in the timing of the Great Tribulation of Matthew 24 with the second coming events also described. This is a departure from most of the Partial Preterists, who do take the second coming events of Matthew 24 to be already fulfilled.
However, even in that, the argument still falls short. While I do not agree with their interpretation of the post Great Tribulation events, even they do not all decide that the Bible does not yet describe another second coming.
In general, this argument is only a surface objection, aimed at lumping all various interpretations in with their most extreme elements, and thereby attempting to defame them all.
That this is the case should be apparent to all, and such painting with too broad of strokes should be avoided as a matter of course in all serious discussion and study of the Scriptures.
